We sell Ebac dehumidifiers

Carlton Sales sell Ebac dehumidifiers.  Ebac have been making dehumidifiers since 1974 and are world leaders in dehumidifier technology and design.  For over 30 years Ebac have been developing robust dehumidifier systems for domestic, industrial and military use.  They are the highest quality products available in the market for combating excess moisture, damp, condensation and mould problems.

Manufactured and engineered in the UK EBac ensure the quality of manufacture is what you expect. They don’t subcontract to China and don’t employ low skilled or cheap labour. All of their dehumidifier manufacturing technicians are highly trained and care about the quality of the products.

The UK climate and weather is completely different to Asia and more temperate countries and a dehumidifier manufactured there will not perform as well in the UK as an Ebac dehumidifier.  A dehumidifier built and optimised for the UK climate will perform better than one manufactured in Asia and optimised for that climate.

Ebac use cutting edge technology in hydrophilic coils, coupled with their unique and innovative defrosting system make dehumidifiers the most energy efficient on the market.  Carlton Sales sell over 25 different types of Ebac dehumidifiers detailed below:

Domestic dehumidifiers

We sell a number of dehumidifiers for the home ranging from those that can extract 15 litres to models that can extract 25 litres.  They come in plastic, steel effect or wood finish.

Static dehumidifiers

Static dehumidifiers are ideal for those who need to put a dehumidifier in a permanent place - costs can soon be saved on problems to do with damp as you are able to maintain humidity conditions.

Desiccant dehumidifiers

The EIPL range of desiccant dehumidifiers have a high efficiency patented PPS Rotor that incorporates an 82% active Silica Gel to ensure optimum performance over the equipment’s wide operating range of environments.  The rotors are washable and ensure these models are built to last a long time.

Buildings dehumidifiers

Our buildings dehumidifiers are suitable for those in the finishing trade such as decorators and plasterers and will dry out single rooms and extensions.  Highly portable and made of very durable material they are ideal for the construction industry.

So visit the Carlton Sales website today to see our range of Ebac dehumidifiers available to buy or lease.

Hand dryers versus paper towels

It has long been suggested that hand dryers can create cost efficiencies of up to 90%.  Some experts also say these electric devices can deliver environmental benefits and are more hygienic than paper towels.

Hand dryer versus Paper Towel - the environmental argument

Although both inevitably have an environmental impact it is believed that hand dryers use less energy in the long run.  This is taking into account the manufacture and transportion process.  Although they will be required to be hard wired in on installation but once you have paid for this cost you can be sure that they last for a long time and may have a lower carbon footprint over time.

Often paper towels are not produced using recycled materials so trees have to be cut down and the paper production needs to take place.  Even if they are made of recycled paper, once the towel have been used they are not then recyclable afterwards.  It is estimated that it takes 9 trees to supply paper towels for an average burger restaurant every year.  They will also produce 1,000lbs of waste which will be taken away for landfill.  You also have to consider the costs of paying for replenishing the supply not only in materials but in labour costs.

Hand dryer versus Paper Towel - the hygiene argument

Paper towels can potentially leave more bacteria and micro-organisms in the hard to reach areas on the hands that a hand dryer can reach.   Some research has found that hot air speeds up the drying process which can reduce the opportunity of micro-organisms breeding in damp spots.

Carlton Sales sell hand dryers

Carlton Sales have been selling equipment for business and industry for washrooms and kitchens for many years.  We have a range of high quality drying products from manufacturers Moel and Maestrowave, with warranties.    Their covers are fire retardant and come in a range 1.5kw up 2.2kw heaters depending on your output requirement.  There are a variety of sizes to fit the washroom or kitchen area that you need to put them in.   Air can be produced on demand with infrared sensors and auto cut out when hands are removed.   Models come in white casing or stainless steel.

Many of our models are HACCP ‘Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point’ approved. This is an internationally recognised and recommended system of food safety management. It focuses on identifying the ‘critical points’ in a process where food safety problems (or ‘hazards’) could arise and putting steps in place to prevent things going wrong. This is sometimes referred to as ‘controlling hazards’.

If your facilities management team decide that hand dryers are the best solution for drying hands then we would be delighted to discuss your requirements.

Will it be a white Christmas this year?

We might all be hoping for a white Christmas and for many it would certainly enhance the enjoyment over the festive season.  However I bet amongst all the little extra purchases that you are making at this time of year, buying a dehumidifier is the last thing on your mind in order to spread festive cheer!

It is all over the news: snow and freezing temperatures are set to return to the UK during the next 48 hours.  Up to 20cm is expected in some areas of Scotland, Northern Ireland and much of Wales and England.  Even the betting companies are slashing the odds on us having a white Christmas this year which is a very rare occurrence indeed!

However as the snow and ice thaws you may need to ensure that your house or business is water tight in those areas where flooding is at greater risk.  If in the unfortunate event that you do have a flood, you will need to dry out the building so that you can get back to normal as soon as possible.  Dehumidifiers can assist by getting moisture out of the walls and atmosphere and will help prevent damp spreading.  If you are well prepared you can prevent having a Christmas being remembered for all the wrong reasons.

You may have a dehumidifier already and need to check it is still working properly.  We are experts at repairing and servicing and Carlton Sales sell a large range of products if it is a new one that you need.  We offer free delivery across mainland UK.  We sell top brands including Eco Air, Ebac, Meaco, DeLonghi and Koolbreeze and our product range includes buildings, desiccant, domestic, industrial and static dehumidifiers.

Living Room MD to leave following acquisition by the Orchid Group

Living Room managing director Danny Fox is to leave his role to pursue other opportunities within the industry.

The move follows the Orchid Group’s acquisition of 43 businesses from Premium Bars & Restaurants, which went into administration in August.

The deal, which includes 13 Living Room sites, will see Fox remain temporarily at the company to ensure a smooth handover.

Fox said: “I’ve learned a lot from developing The Living Room and had a great time doing it.  It’s a fantastic brand and I’m happy to leave it in the capable hands of Orchid Pubs & Dining.  Orchid is well placed to pick up the reins and their expertise will no doubt take The Living Room forward.”

Greene King launches iPhone app for cask ale lovers

Cask ale lovers will be able to brew their own beer virtually thanks to a new free iPhone app from Greene King called iBrew.

The app allows users to choose a mix of hops, barley, water and yeast, before shaking the device to create a pint.

The programme also allows beer enthusiasts to discover cask ale pubs certified as having excellent cask ale by Greene King’s quality team and head brewer, John Bexon.

All 336 tenanted and leased cask ale pubs in the company’s Head Brewer’s Club are featured and can be found with the iPhone map by name or county or connected with telephone link.

Speaking about the iBrew app, commercial manager for Greene King Pub Partners, Anthony McEvoy said, “This is a unique App allowing a bit of fun with its very own brewing game and providing pub lovers easy access to great cask ale pubs all over the country.  The pubs get better publicity than they would from just a standard website and customers can use the iPhone map system to direct themselves straight to the pub of their choice”.

Goddard Arms Is Back In Business

THE doors to the Goddard Arms swung open once more last night at its grand opening following a £2m refurbishment.

The Old Town landmark on High Street shut down on August 31, 2007 and was sold off to a then-unnamed property developer.

But after more than two years of lifelessness the 16th century building was revived by the Barracuda Group, which has transformed the Grade II listed main building into a 11-bedroom hotel with a restaurant and bar.

Assistant manager Danny Cocker said: “It has been a lot of work and one huge rush to get open in time for Christmas but it is great to see people in here enjoying themselves.

“I wasn’t here when it closed down but in the last few weeks I have spoken to countless people, all very happy that there is life in the Goddard again.”

The hotel has been a landmark in Swindon for more than 300 years.

A building first appeared on the Goddard Arms site in 1249 and was an inn frequented by pig farmers and sheep drovers who used it as a place to rest and quench their thirst on market days.

In the late 1500s a thatched inn called The Crowne was built on the site and in the 1620s the inn was bought by Thomas Goddard, Lord of the Manor of High Swindon. He later went on to rename it in honour of his family.

By the late 18th Century the low thatched building had been destroyed by fire and, with the pig trade expanding and the old market town becoming more prosperous, a larger coaching inn was built on the site.

The building was re-named once more in 2005 when the restaurant was given a facelift and changed to the Buccleuch Grill.

Mayor David Wren, who cut the ribbon to the hotel last night, said he was over the moon when he heard the Goddard Arms was to reopen.

“I was even happier to hear it was keeping its name,” he said.

“The Goddard Arms is a name synonymous with Old Town, it is a much loved landmark and one of Swindon’s most treasured buildings. To have people in here once more, eating drinking and enjoying themselves is exceptionally good news for Swindon.”
