Now that it seems like the recent spell of very warm weather has finally come to an end for a while, our air conditioning engineers here at Carlton Services might be able to get back to normal working hours again!

The last few weeks have been extremely busy for us because so many companies suddenly needed air con systems installations or suddenly found that their air conditioning units just packed up. Often when we talked to these organisations they confessed to not having the air con systems on any sort of maintenance contract and therefore they had been regularly serviced.

At Carlton Services just like any other business we fully understand the drive to reduce costs and make savings where possible – but when it comes to maintenance of things like air con units we certainly would not advise reducing costs by scrapping service and maintenance contracts. I’d say this for two main reasons;

1) Because sods law says that your air con system is bound to fail just when you need it most and when it does it will cost you a lot more in emergency repair work and lost productivity ( yes - we have lots of anecdotal evidence gathered over all our years of servicing and repairing air conditioning systems that show us how productivity and efficiency plummets when the temperature rises)

2) Poorly maintained or neglected air conditioning systems can be a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses – some of them extremely nasty – even deadly, like Legionella pneumophilia or legionnaires disease!

For these reasons not maintaining your air conditioning systems effectively could prove to be a very false economy.

If you have got any comments on this blog post, or if you have any questions or concerns about air conditioning at all or you’d like advice on air conditioning systems for your business just let us know.
