Easyfit Range of Air Conditioning Systems Launched…

Our professional Easyfit Split System air conditioning units are renowned for their elegant design and superior quality the use of Hitachi and Toshiba compressors allows us to offer outstanding reliability coupled with maximum efficiency.

Our Easyfit systems are built using the latest technology then undergo rigorous testing and inspection to ensure excellent efficiency and reliability.

The Easyfit systems have directional airflow which is adjustable by remote control the cooling ability is generated from a small electrical input this is what allows greater economy than the average system. Each 1.3kW input power spent generates 3.6kW of cooling or 3.9kw of heating (13,700 BTU System). Our units are very economical to run!

Why Is Foster The Environmentally Friendly Choice?

Foster views environmental management as an integral component of its overall business decision making, and strives to achieve environmental best practice in all of its manufacturing and supply operations. We are committed to developing and marketing products which have excellent environmental characteristics, and which meet current best practice” Paul Veried, Managing Director.

Sustainability & The Environment
Foster is the first and only UK refrigeration manufacturer to obtain ISO 14001 the recognised international standard in Environmental Management Systems.

Foster’s unique package offers more than any other manufacturer to support environmental responsibility. You can be sure that you are buying from a company that is environmentally responsible and compliant with environmental law.

Foster is approved to ISO 9001 quality management system standard for the design and manufacture of commercial refrigeration equipment and cold storage facilities. The approval also covers installation, commissioning and supply of associated spare parts including customer support training. All products conform to current legislation and exceed Montreal Protocol Guidelines. In addition to this a Hydrocarbon option is available at no extra cost – Hydrocarbon is a naturally occurring refrigeration gas, the only commercial gas that is Zero Ozone Depleting and has minimal global warming potential.

Running Costs

Foster cabinets are on the Government’s Energy Technology List so benefitting from the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme governed by the Carbon Trust. They have been independently tested and meet their standards on energy efficiency. Foster cabinets have 60mm of foamed insulation reducing heat leakage and running costs.

Gas Leaks/Coated Coils

Foster are the only commercial refrigeration manufacturer to use Helium Leak Detection. This can detect the very smallest gas leak which could not be found using normal equipment. In addition evaporator coils have not one but two protective coatings called ‘double dipping’ to ensure even the very centre of the coil is protected from corrosion. These processes are unique to Foster and are important for customers as they ensure the operating efficiency of Foster’s refrigeration systems. This was covered in ACR Today (April 2005) as, “ a system that loses 15% of its refrigerant charge through leakage will see a 50% drop in cooling capacity and 100% increase in energy consumption.”

A Quick Guide To Refrigerants:
REFRIGERANTS USAGE GWP ODP
R12 - CFC (Chloroflurocarbon) Phased out - Illegal 8500 1
R134a - HFC (Hydrofluorocarbon) Widely used today 1300 0
R404a - HFC Widely used today 3800 0
R290 - HC (Hydrocarbon) Used in domestics & commercial <3 0

GWP = Global Warming Potential is relative to Carbon Dioxide = 1
ODP =  Ozone Depletion Potential is relative to R11 = 1

The above table demonstrates the facts clearly - in offering Hydrocarbon refrigeration, Foster is leading the way to a more environmentally friendly future.

Mixology Ice Queen, Bex, Swears by Hoshizaki

Award winning mixologist, Rebecca ‘Bex’ Almqvist, developed her significant skills through working in some of Europe’s most highly regarded bars and hotels.Notably, in her home town, Stockholm, she worked in the famous Buddha Bar and Windows Bar then later, in London, she spent time at The Sanderson Hotel, The Hilton and Harvey Nichols’ Prism Bar which she ran. She is currently the bartender at The Lansdowne in Notting Hill but also spends time as a freelance mixologist at functions and events and entering (and winning) bartending competitions.

Her philosophy is to only use the best, freshest ingredients – and this includes ice. “It’s a main component of every cocktail yet its importance is so often overlooked,” she explains. “Over the years, I have used ice from many different manufacturers’ machines but there is only one that stands out and that’s Hoshizaki. Their machines produce a good, pure, solid cube that melts very slowly so that the flavour of the drink is not affected.”
So committed is Bex to Hoshizaki ice that she takes her own supply from The Lansdowne (where both an IM240 cube machine and an FM120 flake machine are installed) when she is competing – when the competition venue hasn’t already got Hoshizaki.
“I simply don’t understand why anybody in this business would want to compromise on ice,” she continues. “When you’ve invested in staff, premises, training, research and ingredients, why blow it all by using ice that’s going to melt quickly.”
Her sheer dedication to her profession is certainly paying off. In April 2008 she won the London heat of the Miller’s Gin Annual Mixology Awards and has high hopes for the forthcoming national event; she came second in the Beefeater Twisted Competition in July and was the outright winner of the UK’s first non-sponsored competition – Rematch Beatch – based on speed and skill - in March. She is also the official bartender for Perrier Water and has just produced 12 new drinks for them.

Dualit toaster wins Design Superstar Award!

Dualit picks up a highly acclaimed award from one of the most respected consumer testing bodies in the country.

This December, Dualit saw the ever-popular Vario toaster win the Design Superstar award at the 2008 Good Housekeeping Consumer Awards. Comments from the judge Helen Peavitt, curator of Consumer Technology at the Science Museum, included:

“From the simple metal body to the clockwork timer, every part of this toaster is well thought through.”

“A perfect union of form and function mean it’s stylish, tactile and easy to use.”

“In our throwaway culture, it’s great to be able to nominate an appliance that’s designed to last.”

The Vario toaster stands apart from the crowd as a truly British, robust design classic that is a million miles away from the bland looks of many other toasters. That’s because the Vario toaster is based on a commercial design and is built to last.

When Max Gort-Barten designed, engineered and built the first Dualit toaster in 1945, he wanted to create a product that would make the best toast in the world. Today, each Dualit Vario toaster is assembled by hand here in the UK, much as it always was, and features the assembler’s individual mark on the base plate. Toasters remain at the heart of the brand, and retain enormous appeal among domestic users and professional chefs.

The Dualit design philosophy has always been one of quality and individuality – combining excellent engineering with functionality to give years of reliable use. All of the parts are replaceable or can be fixed, and most importantly the patented ProHeat element can always be replaced if anything goes wrong. It is this philosophy and these characteristics that really make the Vario toaster a Design Superstar and a true winner in all aspects.

The Vario toaster is available in 2-slice, 3-slice, 4-slice and 6-slice and a variety of colours including the ever-popular polished chrome.
